Child temperature preference

Tip 1: Check the back of the neck. Warm and dry means perfect. Cold hands are normal!

Tip 2: Active kids run hot. Dress one layer lighter if they will be running around.

Tip 3: Never wear thick winter coats under car seat straps. Buckle up in thin layers, then cover with the coat or a blanket.

Tip 4: Avoid pullovers for toddlers. Choose zip-ups or cardigans so teachers can easily remove a layer.

Tip 5: If your child feels cold, add a light vest. It keeps the core warm without restricting arms.
